Step-by-Step
Application of Add-On Heat-Shrink Tubes for Racquets
These steps apply to building-up grips on tennis racquets only**.
Add-On provides a fast, easy, accurate way of building-up the grips
of racquets to personally fit the hands of the athlete. Add-On will
result in a build-up job that is uniform in thickness, enhances the
feel of the grip and is durable enough to withstand a wide array competitive
sports situations and environments. The entire process can take as
little as five minutes to complete. |
| |
Step One:
Remove the overgrip from racquet & clean handle. If tube will not
slip over butt cap, remove butt cap from racquet handle. |
| |
Step Two:
Slip tube onto handle leaving approx. 1/2" overlap over throat
cap at top of handle to allow for shrinkage. |
| |
| |
Step Three:
Keeping tip of heat gun about 4" from tubing, turn on heat gun
(Low setting) to shrink tube starting at the butt end and working
up the handle as it shrinks. Rotate handle throughout shrinking process
to produce a uniform shrink. |
| |
Step Four:
Allow tube to cool. Then, with a utility knife, trim excess tubing
from butt end or end of handle (if butt cap was removed). Replace
butt cap. |
| |
Step Five:
Reapply overgrip. |
IMPORTANT:
Over time, if stored in a warm environment (+70-degrees F), tubes
could shrink before use. Store in a cool place.
**To build-up grips on racquetball, squash
and badminton racquets, use Add-On "Original" Self-Adhesive
Sheets.
